THE SEMICA FIRM

SEMICA SARL is a consulting firm specializing in the promotion and development of the mining, quarrying, oil and energy sector in Africa. Specializing in the organization of panafrican trade fairs, it excels in the support – advisement of the big investment groups and in the connection of business on Africa.
Its headquarters are in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
For almost ten years, the firm has continuously organized the SEMICA, International Mining, Energy, Quarrie, Oil Convention & Exhibition, thus helping to consolidate the promotion of Burkina Faso destination to international investors. This meeting of professionals from Africa and the world concerned by mines, quarries and oil is today on the international agenda of major events on the continent. Professionals, participants, and visitors usually come from Canada, Australia, the US, Europe, Asia, and of course, African countries.
Its primary objectives are to raise awareness of the mining and oil sectors and more generally the mineral resources of the African continent in order to arouse the interest of investors but also to promote the image of Africa that wins.
In addition to its recognized expertise in Burkina Faso as well as professionals in its sectors, its activities now extend to West Africa with good prospects beyond the continent.
The Firm is regularly present at major world mining and petroleum meetings such as Mining Indaba (Cape Town, South Africa), Cim Canada (Montreal, Canada) and PDAC (Toronto, Canada).
The firm’s management is led by an Advisory Board composed of senior consultants with long experience in the mining, diplomacy and marketing sectors.

Mr PHILIPPE OUEDRAOGO

X-MINES PARIS 1964, PRESIDENT OF THE BOARD

Polytechnician, engineer of the National School of Mines of Paris, Mr. Philippe OUEDRAOGO is an X-MINES of the class of 1964.

He held high positions in his country Burkina Faso as President of the Economic and Social Council, Minister of Equipment and Communications, General Manager  of Mines and Geology, General Manager of CIMAT (Cement Company and Materials).

He has long worked for regional integration within the Integrated Development Authority of the Liptako Gourma Region.

H.E.M. FILIPPE SAVADOGO

DIPLOMAT, MEMBER

Ambassador Filippe SAVADOGO, a Burkinabe diplomat, was the representative of The Francophonie at the United Nations in New York.
Prior to the United Nations, he was Minister of Culture, Tourism and Communication and Government Spokesperson.
Previously, M. SAVADOGO was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Burkina Faso in France, with Accreditation in Spain, Portugal and the Vatican for 10 years. During the same period, he was Permanent Delegate of his country to UNESCO. He also led the destiny of FESPACO for a decade early in his career.
Former dean of the African Diplomatic Corps in France, he studied Sciences, Information and Communication Technologies / Public Relations at the Universities of Ouagadougou, Bordeaux III, Paris II (Panthéon) and Paris III (Sorbonne Nouvelle).
He is now an International Consultant in Soft Diplomacy and Public Relations.

Mr JEAN ALPHONSE SOME

GEOLOGIST ENGINEER, MEMBER

Jean Alphonse SOME is a Geologist Engineer, graduated in Applied Geology from the University of Orleans and Applied Microscopy from the University of Paris XII (Créteil).
Former General Manager of the Bureau of Mines and Geology of Burkina Faso (BUMIGEB), he has a long experience of research in mapping applied to mineral exploration. A confirmed geologist, he has also made a major contribution to the development of the mining industry in Burkina Faso and Africa.
Today an international consultant, he was the architect of the success of the Quarries Development Days and the West African Mining Week (SAMAO).

Mr FRANCOIS OUINDLASSIDA OUEDRAOGO

MINING ENGINEER, MEMBER

Ouindelassida François OUEDRAOGO, is a geological engineer graduated from the National School of Applied Geology and Mining and Geological Prospecting, he held several high positions in the administration of Burkina Faso.
Former Minister of Mines of his country, he taught at the Inter-State School of Rural Equipment Engineers (EIER) and at the University of Ouagadougou. More than thirty articles and scientific papers have been put to his credit.

Mr INNOCENT BELEMTOUGRI

MARKETING EXPERT, PROMOTER OF SEMICA

Innocent BELEMTOUGRI graduated in Marketing from the African Institute of Management of Ouagadougou.
Founder and director of several companies, he has more than 20 years of experience in marketing and major events. From his consulting agency BITEL COMMUNICATION, through AFRICA GTBM, INMEDIA CONSULTING, he launches in 2012 SEMICA, which become today the essential reference in the promotion of the West African subsoil.
With nearly 10 successful editions of the SEMICA trade fair, 2 editions of the AFRICA GLOBAL TELECOMS & ICT BUSINESS MEETINGS, as well as many major events, M. BELEMTOUGRI‘s expertise and talent are now his reference marks in a renowned difficult access environment.
